History

Inspired by generosity of the faithful’s, the Bangantalinga Campsite serves as the center of district activities of the Zambales District of the United Methodist Church since time immemorial. It traces its root back to the time when some members of the church donated said vacant lot for the benefit of the district.

Since then, it has served as venue and host for many district gatherings such as family rallies, district fellowships and Christmas Institutes of the young people. The Zambales District continues to celebrate the remarkable contribution of Bangantalinga Campsite to the life and ministry of the church. It is a living testament to many of the faithful leaders and workers of the church today who had responded to the call of Christ on this “holy ground.” Indeed, this place had transformed many lives through the years and brought thousands of souls to Christ through different gatherings such as the Christmas Institute, among others.

The Zambales District has long dreamt of transforming this barren land, strategically situated few meters from the seashores of the province, supposedly into a campsite with its own physical facilities that will cater to the ministry of the church. A center that will sustain the life and work of the United Methodist Church in the province as it commits to continuously participate in the life-giving mission of Jesus Christ and to strengthen the work of the church.

The growing needs of our church and the present realities in our community are imperative to innovate, develop and maximize sustainable resources in order to better respond to this mission amidst the ever-changing times.

It is in this light that the vision to revive and reaffirm the dream of developing the campsite into a spiritual mission center has come into being – a big leap of faith that invites the full participation and support of all the leaders, workers and members of the church in the entire Zambales District.
